We spent the second part of our Colorado trip visiting Kevin's mom and step dad (aka Nana and Papa Paul). They have a mountain house in Salida that is simply amazing! We just love spending him in Salida! On our first "full" day there we went on a hike. The trail was minutes from their house and the views were breathtaking.
Reese's pink flower sandals look very "out doors-y", huh?! We didn't pack very appropriately for a hike, but we made the best of it!

The next stop on the hike was this creek....Nana helped Reese "dip" her toes in the water!
When we got home Reese found some more "appropriate" hiking shoes....too bad they were WAY too big!
That evening we grilled out. Nana and Papa Paul have this deck that wraps all the way around their house. Reese had a blast running around the deck and searching for "chippies". "Chippies" are these small, brown chipmunks that Reese fell in love with! She spent most of the trip bullying us into going out to watch for chippies with her....she would squeal with delight when we would find one. I can't believe that I didn't get a picture of her watching for the chippies!
