One of my favorite student's right now is a second grade boy who has Asperger Syndrome. He is so funny and very out spoken. When I went to get him for the speech session, he was with the special education teacher.
Teacher: "Remember, you were absent yesterday so when you get back you have a lot of work to make up. Okay?"
Student: "Okay"
Me: "Where were you yesterday?"
Student: "Absent"
Me: "Why?"
Student: "Because my mom made me eat a poached egg."
Me: "Eating the egg made you miss school?!"
Student: "It made me have diarrhea."
Me: "Oh, I'm sorry!"
Student: "My stomach hurt BAD! It was like a dynamite explosion!"
Me: "Wow! That sounds bad!"
Student: "It was....it was awful!"
Poor baby! Lesson for today: Do not eat poached eggs. They make you have a dynamite explosion!
